Still not the piece I promised, but -- finally finished! I drew this over the course of two years, practically speaking - one day back then, one day today.

Slightly smaller than A4; fully in uni-ball micro UB-120 black on 190g.

We were discussing why soldiers are placed in front of pretty bubbles with words and flowers, and my friend said:

"Oh I know! The guys in the foreground are declaring WAR on the background!"

... Yeah!

I'd been pondering for a long time which of your lovely ink works I'd fave, since I like them all. I settled on this one.

There's such a rich volume to the foreground shapes, it's like you could stick them in your mouth, close your eyes and be able to completely visualize them by rolling the shape around on your tongue.

This, contrasted with the fine details of the background that, at a distance, serve as comforting noise, and close up provide a second level of intimacy and involvement. [Possibly one of the most beautiful comments ever - Thanks, B.]
